Hello all
we need to get you up and blogging today. You should aim to customise the look of your blog and make sure you know how to add the following:
-posts
-stills
-links to video clips
-linked lists
-labels
Key language to get used to:
dashboard - (where the dept stores + manages all the blogs)
customise - where you can add features and change things around
page elements - such as linked lists, archive posts, comments etc
Whenever you log onto your blog, you should remember to go via the dept thriller blog (the mothership if you like), so you can check to see if there are any messages for the class.
Look out for comments on your blog as well - from me or maybe from another student.
Start with the basics and work up, you'll soon get the hang of it.
Media Dept blogging code of conduct - stick to media related posts, nothing offensive or abusive, including comments on other people's blogs, no messing with other people's blogs. Offenders will be kicked off the blog, so don't abuse it.
Your individual blog will be evidence of your work in progress - research, early ideas etc - so make sure you develop it over time and give it lots of tlc!! When you have decided your production groups, your individual blogs will link from your group blogs, which will also link from the main blog. You will use the group blog for all your pre-production work - planning, group diary etc.
For information on what to put on your individual blog, see my next post!
